Dr. Badaruddin Soomro is one of Pakistan's most distinguished and experienced agronomists with over 35 years of practical experience in the field of agriculture and farming. Dr. Soomro is a PhD in Agronomy/ Crop Sciences from Oklahoma State University, USA. Dr. Soomro has held various key positions throughout his career and in recognition of his services to the field of agriculture & farming and contribution towards scientific research in Pakistan; he was awarded Tamgha-e-Imtiaz in Science by the President of Pakistan in 1990. Dr. Soomro has held the office of Secretary Agriculture, Government of Sindh, Pakistan, Director General National Agriculture Research Center (NARC), Member (Crop Sciences) PARC, Director General Agriculture Extension Sindh, Hyderabad, Managing Director Sindh Seed Corporation, Hyderabad, Director General Agriculture Research, Hyderabad and Principal Research Officer/Director SZARI, Thatta, Karachi to name a few. Dr. Soomro demonstrate an outstanding blend of experience in agricultural research and soil sciences along with highly impressive academic credentials & professional merit.

Dr. Badaruddin Soomro has more than 40 publications under his name, including dissertation, thesis, technical research papers, national research plans, status papers of major crops and technical/memo reports. Dr. Soomro has extensively travelled around the world and attended numerous seminars, conferences and study tours in countries including USA, Mexico, Italy, Indonesia, India, Bangladesh, Srilanka, Philippines and Thailand. His professional associations include Member American Society of Agronomy, Member, Crop Science Society of America and Member American Peanut Research & Education Association and Member Mint Agro & Farming Advisory Board (MAB).
